Use of Pre and Post Harvest Low Cost Techniques to Control/Minimize Citrus Juice Bitterness

The processing of citrus juice industry faced formidable problems of excessive bitter taste in terms of “bitterness” and “delayed bitterness” of juice worldwide because it reduces the quality and commercial value of the product. The two main compounds which impart the bitterness in citrus fruits are naringin and limonin.

Correlation and Path Analysis for Yield and Yield Contributing Traits in Forage Sorghum

The experiment with 32 genotypes was conducted at the sorghum research unit, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola in randomized block design with three replications during kharif, 2011-2012. The studied revealed that the magnitudes of genotypic correlation coefficients were greater than phenotypic correlation coefficients for most of the character under studied.

Assessment of Chemical Properties of Soils in Thane District of Maharashtra

The present study was conducted during the 2014-15. Geo-referenced surface soil samples representing different tehsil were collected from Thane district. The latitude, longitude and altitude of sampling sites were recorded using global positioning system (GPS). The soil sampling sites were located in the fields of major crops in seven tehsils of Thane district.

QUALITATIVE ASSESSMENTS OF LITCHI FRUITS BY USING PACKAGING MATERIALS, GLUTATHIONE AND CITRIC ACID AT DIFFERENT STORAGE CONDITIONS

Oxidation of anthocyanin by polyphenol oxidase (PPO) or peroxidase (POD) causes enzymatic browning. It leads to undesirable characteristics of fruits and ultimately decreasing of fruit quality and value. Desiccation, post-harvest decay, loss of quality and micro cracking are the other most important problems restricting the growth of the litchi industry.

Genetic Variability, Heritability and Genetic Advance for Seed Quality Parameters in some of the Land Races of Sorghum

Ninety-nine landraces of kharif sorghum were evaluated for six seed quality characters. The study revealed that the characters grain mold rating and seed hardness showed high GCV and PCV values indicating thereby large amount of variation in these characters. All the characters showed close GCV and PCV values indicating less influence of environment of these characters.
